  • A Paternalistic leader acts as a father figure and takes care of their employees needs. They expect trust from employees. Bond between employees and leader is very strong. Such as family run business
  • A laissez-faire leader allows things to take their own course without interference. They give employees an opportunity to take responsibility. Often found in industries where employees are highly skilled, well educated.
  • A transformational leader focuses on the hearts and minds of employees. they aim to give them satisfaction, motivation and achievement. Shows trust rather than control. Leader empowers employees to do job themselves. Such as Steve Jobs
  • A transactional leader states goals and objectives from which activities are then organised. Employees carry out activities in exchange for reward. Pay and performance.
  • A Charismatic leader has commitment and passion. They are persuasive and are able to use their skills to get people on their side. Usually good speakers, optimistic and confident.
