Little albert experiment by John B. Watson and his graduate student (mistress and later wife) Rosaline Rayner.
Performed in 1920 to test classical conditioning.
Watson and Raynor presented little albert (nine-month year old boy) with white rat. Struck something and made a noise behind his head when he saw a white rat which made him scared of white rats when they made him cry and animals like them.
But he wasn’t scared of the animals before.
Tried classical conditioning on a baby whereas it was only done on dogs before.
