• Wundt the "father of psychology" was the 1st to say the mind should be studied in a structured way
• Wundt opened the 1st lab dedicated to psychology he used controlled standardised methods to investigate the inner workings of the mind.
• Wundt developed introspection which is the observation of one's own mental and emotional processes:
• Evaluation - Wundt was one of the 1st researches to see the importance of using standardised procedure therefore his study's are valid and replicable.
• his participants reported their own thoughts and feelings in the introspection study which could result in social desirability as they may lie to fit in with others
• it is subjective - oppinion based which could result in bias
