    Entry of organism until first signs and symptoms appear
  • Incubation Period
    s/sx: Asymptomatic
  • Prodromal Period

    Nonspecific signs and symptoms e.g. fever, diarrhea, cough etc
  • Prodromal Period

    “Alam mo na may sakit siya pero hindi mo alam ang sakin" e.g. flu-like s/sx, rashes
  • NOTE: 5th diseases or (Parvovirus B19) is ONLY contagious during prodromal period
  • Acute Period

    Specific signs and symptoms; majority of pathognomonic sign

    e.g. Rabies: Hydrophobia; Dengue: PetechiaeHerman’s sign - flushed skin; Leprosy “ketong”: Leonine appearance
