    -less detail, lack of validity
    -easier to analyse the data

    -Bowles + Gintis: 237 questionnaires to schools in New York to get info on behaviours they reward (large sample size - good representation).

    -Rutter: sent questionnaires to 12 inner London secondary schools, could correlate achievement, looked at attendance + behaviour.

    -Sullivan: questionnaires from 465 pupils in 4 schools - asking about parents educational achievement, investigating cultural capital (large sample size).
