Reactions of acids with metals

• When a metal reacts with an acid, a salt and hydrogen gas are produced.
• Metal + acid = salt + Hyrdogen
• metals react with hydrochloric acid to give chloride salts and hydrogen.
• Metals react with sulfuric acid to give sulfate salts and hydrogen
• When an acid reacts with a metal, electrons are gained and lost
• When an acid reacts with a metal, that's a redox reaction.

  This is because electrons are gained and lost by the chemicals.
