    • In the midst of a humanitarian crisis in 2014 in Syria, the UNSC unanimously adopted resolution 2165. This enabled the provision of humanitarian aid such as food and healthcare without government permission to 2.9 million previously out of reach Syrians.

    • Since 2011, Russia’s use of veto rose considerably, with the conflict in Syria, where they have cast 18 vetoes - 13 specifically on Syria.
