    the participants conformed due to normative social influence

    good control so minimises effects of the extraneous variables, strict controls also mean the experiment is repeatable
  • AO3- limitations
    lacks ecological validity as it does not mimic a natural environment, it also only had men so you should be careful when generalising women. it also lacks temporal validity as conformity levels may have changed since 1951
