• Define Transnational Corporations (TNCs)


  A company that is based in one country while developing, manufacturing and selling its products in more than 1 country.
• Media Concentration


  Concentrating ownership of media in the hands of a smaller number of corporations.
• Define Media Convergence


  The use of technology to integrate media. They can work together to share stories.
• Define Economies of Scale


  Savings that are achieved by producing, using, and buying things in large quantities.
• Define Trade


  The movement of goods and services that would be unavailable at home or to get better quality goods or less expensive goods.
• Define Transportation


  The connections between the globe, through airports, seaports, etc.

  The worldwide integration of media through shared ideas.

  The continued "progress" and "growth" of human civilization, and the process by which organizations and nations coordinate efforts to address environmental issues.

  The erasing of cultural differences so people gradually become similar.
• Define Acculturation


  The cultural changes that occur when two cultures adapt to each others worldviews.
• Define Accommodation


  A process that occurs when people from different cultures come into contact and accept and create space for one another.

  A process that occurs when the culture of a minority group is absorbed by another culture.

  The process of affirming and promoting people's individual and collective identity.

  When a TNC (Transnational Corporation) hires an outside company in another country to hire workers to preform a certain task.
• Define Sweatshop


  A workplace that has very poor, socially unacceptable working conditions. Work is often difficult, dangerous, climatically challenged or underpaid. Labour laws are often violated (child labour and minimum wage).

  The treatment of a person, group or concept as insignificant or peripheral.

  The process of integrating.

  The combining of elements of two or more different things too create something new.
