    In the 18th century, there was a type of drama where ordinary people faced moral challenges and succeeded in the end.
  • Comedy of Humour :

    A comedy that focuses on a character/a range of character. It was introduced by Ben Janson. It depicts the characters in a funny way.
  • Tendency Comedy : 

    A genre of comedy that laughs at a person, not because he is ridiculous but because he is being ridiculed. The laughter is mocking and mean-spirited.
  • Festive Comedy :

    A genre of dramatic comedy through its comic subplots.
    The comic behaviour of characters are less elevated.
    It's the process of renewal + regeneration that let's life go on.
    There is a happy union at the end.

  • Characters of Comedy :

    The Imposters - Person says more than the truth
    The Self-Deprecators - Persons says less
    The Buffoons - Has too much wit (Aristole also has "The Boor" - has too little wit )
  • Why is Comedy a Problematic Genre ? :
    It has an influnce on others. It generates laughter which could become confusing to what's morally right and wrong. It has an affect on human behaviour.
