What is Confidentiality?
The need for researchers not to publish the personal details of respondents without their consent
What is Anonymity?
The right of individuals participating in the research to not be required to provide their names or personal details, or if they do give this information, it will not appear in any reports arising from the research
What is Informed Consent?
Participants should always give their informed consent to the research being conducted so that no deception occurs
What is Protection from Harm?
The belief that nobody should be put in a position where they could come to any emotional or physical harm. People should never be made to feel uncomfortable, embarrassed or threatened & should have the right to withdraw from the research at any point
