Observational learning

• We observe someone we admire behaving in a particular way, we are more likely to imitate such behaviour
• Involves mediational processes: attention, retention, motivation, reproduction
• Attention: pay attention and observe those around us
• retention- need to remember what the model is doing and store that in the LTM
• Reproduction- must have the physical capabilities to do the behaviour
• Motivation- expect to receive positive reinforcement for modelled behaviour
