  • What is introspection?

    A psychological method which involves analysing your own thoughts and feelings internally.
  • What is introspection used for?

    Used to study sensation and perception by asking participants to describe their experiences when presented with a set of stimuli and often their reaction times were recorded.
    Aimed to record thoughts and sensations and to describe them to analyse them into their constituent elements.

    Carried out under strictly controlled conditions (standardised procedure).

    Issue with the DV-too subjective and is relying on the participants' response rather than something empirical.
