• The heart is divided into two parts so the two types of blood (deoxygenated and oxygenated) are kept apart.
• The right side of the heart carries the deoxygenated blood.
• The left side of the heart carries the oxygenated blood.
• the walls of the ventricles are thick to generate higher blood pressure.
• the wall of the left ventricle is a lot thicker than the wall of the right ventricle as it has to pump blood around the entire body, whereas the right ventricle only has to pump blood to the lungs. ( which are close to the heart )
