  • The epithelium is characterized by compact arrangement of cells and presence of basement membrane.
  • The connective and supportive tissues serve to bind parts together and fill is spaces. These tissues have fewer cells and more intercellular substances (matrix) than the epithelial tissues
  • Adipose Tissue - large fat droplets. In cross section, it looks like a signet ring with its nucleus and cytoplasm pushed to one side.
