Islam Beliefs

• Tawhid:

  • the belief in the oneness of Allah
  • Allah has no parts or companions
  • there is only one God (monotheism)
  • going against this belief is to commit shirk (idolatry) which is unforgivable
  • these people will go to jahannam
  • "He is Allah one" (Qur'an)
  • "I bear witness that there is no God but Allah" (Shahadah)
  • "Allah does not forgive the joining of partners with him" (Qur'an)
• Risalah/Nubuwwah:

  • Adam:
  • known as the "father of humanity" (Qur'an)
  • he built the first Ka'aba
  • was subject to the fall of man
  • "I've sent a vicegerent on earth" (Qur'an)
  • Adam teaches humanity of Allah's creation
  • will pray towards the Ka'aba to demonstrate their belief in tawhid
  • Ibrahim:
  • known for his ibadah as he was willing to sacrifice Ishmael to show his faith
  • "Allah will not burden you with more than you can bear" (Qur'an)
  • gives Muslims a good example of how to show ibadah and will follow him in hopes of reaching jannah
  • Muhammad
  • the "Seal of the Prophets" (Qur'an) who recited the Qur'an due to divine revelation
  • "perfect pattern" (Qur'an)
  • Muslims will follow his teachings in the Sunnah and Hadiths as he was given divine guidance by Allah and was the most superior prophet
