• Hyperparathyroidism: Clinical Manifestations

  1. Hypercalcemia and hypophosphatemia. Hypercalcemia decreases neuromuscular excitability.
  2. Serum: Hypercalcemia
  3. Bones: Hypocalcemia
  4. Phosphate: low
  5. Muscle activity: low
  6. GIT: constipation
  7. Bones: pathologic fracture
  8. Heart: high bp, hr
  9. Hypercalcemia is manifested by:

  • polyuria = polydipsia
  • dehydration
  • urinary stone
  • fracture

  • Calcium Diet: Low
  • Phosphate Diet: High
  • Fluids: Increase and Force
