  • Population that is almost stationary with a rectangular shape exept at the top as old people die
• Contracting Populations

  • Population is declining due to lower brith rates and the pyramid is top heavy because of the low brith rates
• Dependant

  • Those people in a population that are not economically active thus rely on people working to meet their needs
• Independent

  • Those people in a population that are economically active
