Marxists believe that society is based on conflict between competingclassgroups.
The Bourgeois
The Bourgeois are a capitalistclass who have their ownmeans of production. For example, factories.
The Proleriats
The Proleriats are working class and own nothing.
Exploitation
The bourgeois exploit the proletariat class by giving them poorwages.
False Class Consciousness
The conflict class divide between the bourgeois and the proletariat is maintained through FCC. This means, the proletariat are unaware they of the exploitation. FCC prevents the proletariat from throwing a communistrevolt to overthrow capitalism.
Unit of consumption
The family is a unit of consumption, which supports the bourgeois and it provides workers to make money for the rich. E.g. Food, clothes, electricity and gas bills.
Marxism Evaluation
Marxism solely focuses on the issue of classdivide. Therefore other divisions and inequalities in society, such as racism and sexism are ignored. They ignore the variety of family in society.
Social institutions
Marxists believe social institutions, such as family, education and the media are responsible for teaching us to acceptcapitalism.
