  • Marxism
    Marxists believe that society is based on conflict between competing class groups.
  • The Bourgeois
    The Bourgeois are a capitalist class who have their own means of production. For example, factories.
  • The Proleriats
    The Proleriats are working class and own nothing.
  • Exploitation
    The bourgeois exploit the proletariat class by giving them poor wages.
  • False Class Consciousness
    The conflict class divide between the bourgeois and the proletariat is maintained through FCC. This means, the proletariat are unaware they of the exploitation. FCC prevents the proletariat from throwing a communist revolt to overthrow capitalism.
  • Unit of consumption
    The family is a unit of consumption, which supports the bourgeois and it provides workers to make money for the rich. E.g. Food, clothes, electricity and gas bills.
  • Marxism Evaluation
    Marxism solely focuses on the issue of class divide. Therefore other divisions and inequalities in society, such as racism and sexism are ignored. They ignore the variety of family in society.
  • Social institutions
    Marxists believe social institutions, such as family,education and the media are responsible for teaching us to accept capitalism.
