  • Hypothesis = a precise testable statement about the expected outcome of a piece of research
  • Directional hypothesis = states specific direction the researcher expects the results to go.
    e.g. Students who use mind maps will achieve higher GCSE Psychology marks than students who don’t use mind maps
     
  • Non-directional hypothesis = state that the difference will be found between the variables but does not state the direction of the result.
    e.g. There is a difference in the GCSE Psychology results of students who used mind maps and students who didn’t
