• What do waves do?

  They transfer energy form one place to another
• Waves vibrate and we call this oscillation
• The distance between two peaks is called the wavelength
• Frequency = number of complete wave cycles per second (Hz)
• Amplitude - maximum displacement from equilibrium position
• Transverse waves are waves that oscillate perpendicular to the direction of energy transfer.
• Longitudinal waves are waves where particles move parallel to the direction of energy transfer.
