• Exocrine gland 


  = Produce enzymes, releases via a duct into the duodenum.

  • Makes digestives enzymes (lipase, amylase, protease)
  • Found in acini cells
  • Transported to small intestine
• Endocrine gland 


  = Produces hormones which are released into the bloodstream.

  • Produces insulin and glucagon
  • Made in clusters of cells called islets of Langerhans
  • Alpha cells make glucagon
  • Beta cells make insulin
