Timeline

• 1. Thane of Glamis
• 2. Cawdor (Macbeth is given the title Thane of Cawdor and the witches tell him he will be king)
• 3. King? (Macbeth is indecisive whether to kill Duncan but Lady Macbeth persuades him to do so)
• 4. Kill Duncan
• 5.Kill Banquo (Banquo is suspicious of Macbeth so Macbeth orders assassins to murder Banquo and his son Fleance however Fleance manages to escape)
• 6. Banquo's Ghost (Banquo's ghost appears at a banquet with lords and sits in Macbeth's seat. He then disappears and reappears which causes Macbeth to look mad in front of the lords so Lady Macbeth ushers the lords away and questions Macbeths sanity and manhood)
• 7. Apparitions (Macbeth goes back to the witches for answers and they shoe him three apparitions. An armed head that tells him to 'beware Macduff', a bloody baby that tells him 'none of woman born shall harm Macbeth' and a child with a crown holding a tree that tells him he will never be defeated until birnam wood moves to dunsinane hill)
• 8. Macduff Massacre (Macbeth orders for murderers to 'give the edge o'the sword to' Macduff's 'wife, his babes and all unfortunate souls that cross him in his path')
• 9. Lady Macbeth's Madness (Lady Macbeth sleepwalks and hallucinates that she has blood on her hands that can't be cleaned off.)
• 10. Tricked twice and killed (Macbeth learns that Lady Macbeth has died - supposed suicide. Macbeth realises the witches apparitions are becoming a reality and prepares for battle. Macbeth is then murdered and beheaded by Macduff in battle as Macduff was born of a caesarean section. Malcom then becomes king)
