  • Epispadias
    Urethral oriffce is located above (dorsal surface) of the penis; the condition often occurs with exstrophy of the bladder
  • Hypospadias
    Urethral orifice is located below (ventral surface) the glans penis along the ventral surface
  • Circumcision may NOT be performed on a newborn with epispadias or hypospadias

    Notify the pediatric surgeon if there is NO urinary output for 1 hour - indicate kinks or obstruction in urinary stent/diversion

    Parent instructions: AVOID giving tub bath until stent is removed
