  • He observed that 37% of his patients who suffered from
    OCD also had parents with the same disorder
  • 21% of these patients also had siblings with OCD too
  • This suggested that OCD ran in families
  • However now we know that these family members, most likely had genetic pre-dispositions or genetic vulnerabilities – not the certainty of OCD.
