• What is geothermal power?

  Is thermal energy generated and stored in the earths crust. its heat energy originated from initial formation of the earth. And from the radioactive decay of materials deep inside the earth
• Geothermal is the same type energy that does what?


  That heats up hot springs across the world
• How can we use it?

  Directly for heat or to generate electricity
• How do we get geothermal energy directly for heat?


  it’s cheaper and involves pumping water down into the ground and allowing it to warm up. Then pumping it back up to the surface to heat out homes
• How do we get geothermal energy to generate electricity?


  We leave the water underground so it’s converted so much it turns into steam. As it rises the gas turns turbines which drives the generators to produce electricity.
• Where can we use this source?

  Only in certain areas like volcanic regions where hot rocks lay on the surface
• Pros: installing it only damages the environment slightly. Running it doesn't produce any pollutants. Renewable so it’s reliable for a long period of time
• Con: only be built in certain areas of the world and can be expensive to build
