  • Act 1, Scene 1: The three witches plan a meeting with Macbeth
  • Act 1, Scene 2: The thanes tell king Duncan about Macbeth's bravery on the battlefield
  • Act 1, Scene 3: The witches tell Macbeth that he will be thane of Cawdor, then king but Banquo's descendants will be kings
  • Act 1, Scene 4: Duncan makes Macbeth thane of Cawdor
  • Act 1, scene 5: the Macbeth's plot to kill Duncan
  • Act 1, Scene 6: Duncan and the thanes arrive at Macbeth's castle
  • Act 2, Scene 1: Macbeth goes to kill Duncan and sees a hallucination of a dagger
  • Act 1, Scene 7: Lady Macbeth convinces Macbeth to kill Duncan
  • Act 2, Scene 2: Lady Macbeth makes Duncan's servants look like they killed the king, while Macbeth feels guilty
  • Act 2, Scene 3: Macduff discovers Duncan's body. Malcolm flees to England and Donalbain flees to Ireland

  • Act 3, scene 5: Hecate is angry that the witches have been acting without her. She decides to make a spell to ruin Macbeth
  • Act 3, scene 6: Lennox and a lord discuss how Malcolm is in England, getting an army together to attack Macbeth
  • Act 4, scene 1: The witches show Macbeth three apparitions and eight ghost kings that look like Banquo
  • Act 4, Scene 2: Lady Macduff and her children are killed by murders that have been send by Macbeth
  • Act 4, Scene 3: In England, Malcolm pretends to be bad to test Macduff's loyalty.
  • Act 5, Scene 1: Lady Macbeth is sleepwalking and reveals her guilt conscience
  • Act 5, Scene 2: The thanes chat about the English army's arrival and about Macbeth's unpopularity as king
  • Act 5, Scene 3: Macbeth hears the English army is on it's way
  • Act 5, Scene 4: Malcolm orders his soldiers to cut down branches to hide behind as they approach Macbeth's castle
  • Act 5, Scene 5: Lady Macbeth dies. Macbeth hears that Birnam wood is moving towards the castle and goes to fight
  • Act 5, Scene 6: Malcolm gives orders to throw down the branches
  • Act 5, scene 7: Macbeth kills Siward's son. Siward reports to Malcolm that the battle is going well
  • Act 5, Scene 8: Macduff kills Macbeth
  • Act 5, Scene 9: Macduff shows everyone Macbeth's head. Malcolm becomes the new king of Scotland
