Schizophreniform disorder presents with the same features as schizophrenia but lasts than 6 months - patients return to baseline function once the disorder has resolved
Epidemiology:
Most common in adolescence and young adults
Much less common than schizophrenia
Treatment is with antipsychotics +/- mood stabilisers, and psychotherapy
