  • what is economic responsibilities?

    -established to make profit
    -profit is primary motive
    -foundation tier of pyramid
    -all other layers depend on the economic responsibilities being met
  • What are legal responsibilities?

    -obligations to society to conduct their affairs within the rules and laws
    -social contract between the firm and the society that it operates in
    -legal constraints affect all the aspects of the firms operations
  • What are ethical responsibilities?
    -the need to ensure that they do not undertake certain activities that society might consider to be unjust and unfair on consumers
    -dynamic relationship between legal and ethical as ethical determine the values that a society eventually enshrines law
  • What are philanthropic responsibilities?

    -notion that an organisation undertakes activities which makes it a good corporate citizen.
    -corporate funding of charities etc.
    -different from ethical responsibilities as society doesn’t expect a firm to undertake them
