Critical period

• Babies have to form an attachment with a caregiver during the critical period
• the first 6 months are the most sensitive
• The critical period possibly extends to age 2
• After this period a child would find it difficult to attain to one later
• Bobby said that if this didn’t happen very often then the child would be damaged for life: socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically
