Hazan and shaver (1987)

• Bowlby’s theory regarding the internal working model is supported by Hazan and Shaver (1984) who published a ‘love quiz’ in a local newspaper
• This quiz asked questions aimed to gauge the participants attachment styles in infancy and their attachment types in adult relationships
• They found a correlation between attachment type in infancy and the nature of layer relationships
• If a child was securely attached In infancy then they would have healthy adult relationships
• This provides support that the idea that your attachment styles provides you with a blueprint for later relationships
