      This shows he is sad, Romeo keeps talking about Rosaline's figure shows he is materialistic and vein. Ornamental view on women show his childish side. 'prosterity' shows that in that generation women are only seen useful for making children. Showing he is a petrarchan lover.
    • In act 1 Romeo says 'she hath foresworn to love, and in that vow do I live dead that live to tell it now' What does this show?
      He makes her personal vow of chastity(intercourse) about himself. The personal pronoun 'I' demonstrated his self absorbed, narstitistic qualities. View women as thier possesion. Showing that he is a petrarchan lover.

      His sorrow is almost worthy of ridicule.
      It seems insignificant that in the context of the play and ironic considering that there is worse sorrow to come.

      " awful destiny " is grimly foreboarding ( feeling that something bad will happen) and it shows the power of fate to be so vast that even the characters in the of the play can feel its effects
