weaknesses of peer review

• Inaccurate or unfair criticism following peer review which is not a valid reflection of the quality of research.
• It is sometimes difficult to find a suitable peer. Especially in a new ground

  breaking topic or field. Has to be very specific.
• Publication bias = results that support current theories may be more readily published than research that doesn’t.
