non-cognitive = may convey emotions, give orders or make moral claims
logical positivism = branch of philosophy that claimed metaphysical + theological language is meaningless, because they aren't matters of empirical evidence
univocal = means exactly the same thing every time (a coat is black, a limp of coal is black)
equivocal = means different things when used in different situations (bat, something used to hit a ball; bat, a flying mammal)
