  Differences and expectations between men and women have been gendered, largely the dominant position within feminism.

  Argue that men and women are innately different, beyond just biology. Also known as essentialism. Division within this strand.
• Different but equal value.

  Highlight and value differences equally, no moral judgment made.

  Argue women replicate mens behaviour.
• Different but seen as superior.

  Women possess superior cultural values, which overcome masculine selfishness.

  Linked to radical feminists.
• Different and should be separate.

  Political lesbianism, can't defeat patriarchy so escape it.

  Heterosexuality a political institution, separate societies from men.
