• Performing as a woman- Viv can also subvert back to performing as a woman when she shows her soft caring side, this links to Judith Butler's gender fluidity theories stating women and men can perform masculinity and femininity.
• Appealing to european audiences- this subversion of female stereotypes is appealing to both national and international audiences which explains its popularity in France which has a similar diverse European multicultural mix to that depicted in Manchester.
