Biological determinism

• One limitation is that it is determinist
• It sees human behaviour as governed by internal, genetic causes over which we have no control

• also a purely genetic argument becomes problematic when we consider things such as crime. Could a violent individual really excuse their actions and blame it on a crime gene
• This suggests the biological view is often too simplistic and ignores mediating effects of the environment
