  • Informed Consent
    A researcher has to reveal the studies true aims and tell the participant what is going to happen.
  • Protection from Harm
    Nothing should happen to the participant that causes harm. Participants should leave the study in the same state that they entered.
  • Debriefing
    Researchers should reveal the aims and results of the study to the participant afterwards.
  • Deception
    Researcher must be truthful and allow for fully informed consent.
  • Withdrawal from Participation

    Participants may leave the study at any time for any reason (eg. feeling uncomfortable or distressed).
  • Confidentiality
    Researchers have to guarantee anonymity.
