Pathology vs Healthy

    Subdecks (1)

    Cards (5)

    • Amputee - Horizontal Component:
      • 2 steps
      • From non-amputee to amputee limb
    • Non-Amputee Limb pt 1:
      • Peak of initial F4 component would expect 0.2 x BM, this is 0.1 or 0.05 x BM, much lower
      • Healthy limb is lower because the propulsion of amputee side is weak
      • Braking force on healthy side significantly reduced from prior step
    • Non-Amputee Limb pt 2:
      • Propulsion force is less than 1 x BM would expect it to be higher 1.2 x BM, so have lower braking force on next limb
      • When healthy force propels to 1.3 BM = stronger push than expected making up for weaker amputee side
      • See kind of gallop, esp as speed up
      • Amount of time on amputee limb amount of time at 0 is extended (longer), before move into propulsive
      • Don’t move out of 0 until around 60% of stance phase
