• Diffusion is the movement of particles from a higher to lower concentration.
• Things that can speed up the rates of diffusion is a high concentration gradient, larger surface area and a higher temperature.
• An example of diffusion in the body is in the alveoli during gas exchange.
• Diffusion is passive. This means it does not need energy.
