Cards (5)

  • anterior displacement:
    • usually caused by trauma in abduction and external rotation with a posterior-anterior force
  • posterior displacement:
    • usually caused by trauma - falling on outstretched hand (FOOSH) - anterior-posterior force
  • Hypothesis:
    • usually either:
    • stiffness - hypomobility conditions
    • OA
    • frozen shoulder
    • instability - hypermobility conditions
    • dislocation - anterior, posterior or inferior displacement
    • weakness - rotator cuff related shoulder pain conditions
  • inferior displacement:
    • caused by trauma in hyperabduction
    • step deformity is a visible bump on the shoulder that indicates that the acromioclavicular joint has been ruptured
