Banduras study support SLT, children after watching aggressive male model also acted aggressively - imitation
Kids who saw that aggressive behaviour rewarded/unpunished, more aggressive than ones who saw it go punished - vicarious reinforcement.
  • Banduras study was in lab so was highly controlled and allowed cause and effect to be established.
  • Bandura used matched pairs design - prevent individual differences being extraneous variables that could've affected results.
  • High inter-rater reliability - 0.89 strong positive correlation.
  • Recognises importance of cognitive factors in learning

SLT provides more comprehensive explanation on learning by recognising role of mediational processes.
