A nerve cell that detects and responds to external stimuli

A nerve cell responsible for carrying signals away from the central nervous system towards the muscles or glands which causes muscle movement or a gland to secrete
What is a relay neurone?
The nerve cell in the brain and spinal cord that allows sensory and motor neurones to communicate
What is the gap between two neurones called?
A synapse
What is the CNS?
The central nervous system which is made up of the brain and spinal cord and connected to the body by sensory and motor neurones
What is the sensory neurone's function?
The neurone that carries information through an electrical impulse from the receptors to the CNS
What is the motor neurone's function?
The neurone that carries electrical impulses from the CNS to the effectors
What is the order of a response?
Stimulus, receptor, sensory neurone, CNS, motor neurone, effector
