What does the pituitary gland do?
Produces hormones that regulate body conditions
What do the ovaries do?
Produce eggs and oestrogen
What do the testes do?
Produce testosterone and control sperm production
What do the thyroids do?
They produce thyroxine which regulates metabolism, heart rate and temperature
What does the adrenal gland do?
It produces adrenaline which prepares the body for fight or flight
What does the pancreas do?
It produces insulin which regulates the blood's glucose level
What are nerve reactions?
Very fast, short and precise
What are hormone reactions?
Slow, long lasting and have more general effects
