step 1 :
place
displacement
can on a
brick
step 2:
place an empty
beaker
under the
spout
and fill the can with water (water should be dripping from the spout)
step 3 :
wait until water stops dripping and replace the
beaker
with a
measuring cylinder
step 4:
take your object and measure the
mass
on top
pan balance
step 5:
lower object slowly into
displacement
can until it is completley submerged
step 6:
collect all the water that comes out the
spout
into the
measuring cylinder

measure and record the
volume
of the water collected (this is equal to the volume of the object)

calculate and record
density
