• The Torah contains all the Jewish laws that must be observed throughout their life but other scriptures are also key in daily life.
• The Tenakh is the name of the 24 books of Jewish scriptures consisting of the Torah, Neviim and Ketuvim
• The Torah= The five Books of Moses, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, numbers and deuteronomy. The most holy books
• The Neviim= the books of the prophets
• The Ketuvim= Holy writings including the psalms
• In addition to the Tenakh, there is also the Talmud containing The Mishnah and The Gemara
• The Mishnah is a collection of writings of the teachings of Judaism that were passed down by word of mouth and then written when jews moved around the roman empire
• The Gemara= This gives further details on the Mishnah explaining and guiding
