• What is a research aim and what must it include?

  A general statement about what the researcher intends to investigate: the purpose of the study.

  States what you believe is true.

• what is an alternate hypothesis?


  predicts a difference between two variables and the results are not due to change
• what is a one tail hypothesis?


  states the direction of the predicted difference between two conditions or 2 groups of people in a precise way.
• what is a two tailed hypothesis?


  says the IV will have an impact of the DV but does not predict the direction of results
• what is a null hypothesis?


  these state there will be no difference between variables being investigated. the IVS and DVS must be stated
