Importance of GMC for christians

• christians agree that good conduct is important, though they do no agree on how to go about putting it into practice.
• range of different views why good conduct matters:

  • christians should obey the teachings contained in the bible which is the word of God
  • the kingdom of god will be realised on earth through the way in which christians care for others
  • christians give glory to god by the way in which they live
  • individual good conduct will be rewarded with eternal life in heaven
• in the sixteenth century, western christianity was torn apart by the reformation- there were bitter disputes that resulted in all-out war between the Catholic Church and the protestant churches that came into being.
