    • Gutierrez - liberation happens in 2 ways
  • Gutierrez and liberation:
    1. social and economic liberation - people must act to bring this about
    2. liberation from sin - reconciled with God and with God's brothers and sisters
    Both methods are essential - both are needed. This means that the political liberation of people is the work of salvation. Sin is not just personal and is historical + collective - within social structure
