In the nucleus of eukaryotes and the cytoplasm of prokaryotes (where the DNA is)
DNA polymerase binds to DNA at promoter regions and separates the strands. Then it uses one strand of DNA to make DNA.
What kind of RNA is made during transcription?
mRNA
DNA polymerase uses base pairsA=U and C=G (T+A but, A doesnt = T)
After the mRNA is formed it'll leave the nucleus and go to the ribosome (which is mostly made up of rRNA) for the second step of protein synthesis which is translation.
